About KBVB
Keep Blackstone
Valley Beautiful serves as the environmental education arm of
the Blackstone Valley Tourism Council, forming an affiliation
with the national non-profit, Keep America Beautiful. Keep
Blackstone Valley Beautiful is one of over 550 Keep America
Beautiful Affiliates nationwide. We are focusing on preventing
litter, reducing waste and beautifying our communities by
working with government, business and civic groups in
Burrillville, Central Falls, Cumberland, Glocester, Lincoln,
North Smithfield, Pawtucket, Smithfield and Woonsocket.
We work with these
cities and towns to understand their specific needs and to
create programs that will enhance their landscapes. The program
coordinator position is sponsored by the Blackstone Valley
Tourism Council.
Keep America Beautiful
(KAB.org) believes that each of us holds an obligation
to preserve and protect our environment. Through our
everyday choices and actions, we collectively have a
huge impact on our world. It's really a simple concept,
but one with far reaching effects.
For more than 60 years, Keep America Beautiful
has been following a practical
approach that unites citizens, businesses and
governments to find solutions that advance their core
issues of preventing litter, reducing waste, and
beautifying communities.
The diverse American
landscape consists of many different "community
environments," each with their own interconnected needs
and challenges. With a national network of more than
1,200 local affiliates of which Keep Blackstone Valley
Beautiful is one, and participating organizations, KAB
combines education with hands on stewardship to address
the needs of communities on an intensely local and
effective level.
