Tree Hugger Tuesdays
KBVB’s Clean-up Meet-up Program 2021
Earth Day clean-ups can happen all season long with our Tree Hugger Tuesday events.
Tree Hugger Tuesday is designed as a clean-up meet up. These will be short after work litter clean-ups followed by a meet-up at the hosting business or restaurant for a complimentary beverage or light snack so we all get a chance to mingle.
The idea of these events is to tackle spots that need attention and have fun as we help make our communities litter free. This program is geared for adult only volunteers. The roads we’re cleaning are busier streets we travel and see daily. Because of the higher traffic volumes, they tend to get heavily littered.
Volunteer at a Tree Hugger Event: Get out after work for an hour or two on various weekdays.
1. These clean-ups are geared for adult participants.
2. Volunteer safety is a main concern. Safety vests, gloves, litter grabbers, trash bags, and disposable masks will be supplied.
3. COVID procedures will be followed. Masks are required and number of volunteers will be limited to current regulations.
4. Litter cleanups are outside. Meetups will be kept outside unless regulations have changed.

Host a Tree Hugger Event: Be a “green” business helping to end litter.
1. KBVB will list your business as a business making a green difference in Blackstone Valley.
2. Cleanups usually takes place right around your business — giving you a litter-free storefront for your patrons to visit.
3. Your business/restaurant hosts the meet up afterwards where volunteers receive complementary light snacks or beverage. Great opportunity to share your specialties!
4. Clean-up groups are limited, usually to 10-15 participants, but will reflect how many your business feels comfortable hosting.

Highlights from some of our past Tree Hugger events

Thank you to The Lodge for a great meetup afterwards!
